Experience Our Jamaica
If you know Journeys, or know us personally, you probably already know that Jamaica has become a very special place in our lives.
Not the all-inclusive, cruise-ship version of Jamaica. We’re talking about Portland, on the island’s lush north-east coast. A quieter, more soulful side of the island where jungle-covered mountains meet beautiful white beaches, the food and people are both incredible, and life moves at a different pace.
This is what we keep coming back to.
Years ago, Even and Maria first arrived here when Geejam was still not a traditional hotel. Today, it’s become one of Jamaica’s most iconic boutique stays, but somehow it still feels wonderfully under the radar.
Artists like Alicia Keys, Beyoncé & Jay-Z, The Rolling Stones and Coldplay have all spent time here over the years. Not because it’s flashy, but because it has that rare thing people in the know are always looking for: atmosphere.
And then there’s Panorama.
Originally Audrey Hepburn’s private holiday home, Panorama Villa sits high above the lagoon with panoramic views of the ocean, jungle and mountains. Four bedrooms, a private pool, beautiful open spaces, incredible staff – it’s the kind of place where your shoulders drop the moment you arrive.
Honestly, this has become our Jamaica. And we want to share it with you.

Why We Love Geejam
Geejam started as a “hidden” recording studio built by music legends Jon Baker and Steve Beaver, with just a few rooms tucked into the hillside above Port Antonio. Over time it slowly evolved into one of the Caribbean’s coolest boutique hotels, but without ever losing its soul.
Today there are still only 17 rooms and three private villas spread across the property. There’s a private beach, an infinity pool surrounded by jungle, one of the island’s best restaurants, and the iconic studio still quietly operating in the background.
It’s not traditional luxury. It’s personal and full of character. The kind of place where like-minded people naturally find each other over rum punch by the pool, long dinners and music drifting through the hills long after midnight.
But Panorama is the crown jewel. Morning coffee overlooking the lagoon. Long lunches by the pool. Fresh fruit and juices, amazing food made with passion and love for great produce, music drifting through the house, and staff who somehow know exactly what you need before you ask.
We fell completely in love with this place the first time we came here. There’s a reason we return whenever we can. This is our Jamaica.
And we’d love for you to experience it too. Get in touch with us on travel@journeys.no for more information and booking.
